I'm happy to say that I survived my first live radio interview, and ended up having a blast! As I said to our gracious and talented host, Anna Singer, I'd rather sing any day than have to speak in public, especially for live radio. Anna, however, who hosted us on WQED Pittsburgh's 'Voice of the Arts', made us feel relaxed and at home. I joined Undercroft Opera's Founding Director, Mary Beth Sederburg, our Stage Director Seamus Ricci, and soprano Emily Hopkins, who also sang Magda in this double-cast production of La Rondine, for a live chat last week. You can listen to the interview on the WQED website if you're so inclined. Emily and I each reveal our favorite part of the opera to sing, and some of the challenges that come with singing this role. I really enjoyed the chance to reflect a bit on this production, and the role in general.
